  31. respirable particles arising from bushfire smoke and hospital presentations for
  32. asthma.
  33. Design and setting: An ecological study conducted in Darwin (Northern Territory,
  34. Australia) from 1 April – 31 October 2000, a period characterised by minimal rainfall
  35. and almost continuous bushfire activity in the proximate bushland. The exposure
  36. variable was the mean atmospheric concentration of particles of 10 microns or less
  37. in aerodynamic diameter (PM10) per cubic metre per 24-hour period.
  38. Outcome measure: The daily number of presentations for asthma to the
  39. Emergency Department of Royal Darwin Hospital.

  207. respirable particles arising from bushfire smoke and hospital presentations for&#13;
  208. asthma.&#13;
  209. Design and setting: An ecological study conducted in Darwin (Northern Territory,&#13;
  210. Australia) from 1 April – 31 October 2000, a period characterised by minimal rainfall&#13;
  211. and almost continuous bushfire activity in the proximate bushland. The exposure&#13;
  212. variable was the mean atmospheric concentration of particles of 10 microns or less&#13;
  213. in aerodynamic diameter (PM10) per cubic metre per 24-hour period.&#13;
  214. Outcome measure: The daily number of presentations for asthma to the&#13;
  215. Emergency Department of Royal Darwin Hospital.&#13;
  216.
